CARDIAC is a complete dietetic feed for dogs formulated to support heart function in the case of chronic cardiac insufficiency. This diet contains a low level of sodium and an increased K/Na ratio .

Recommendations :

It is recommended that a veterinarian’s opinion be sought before use or before extending the period of use. Initially feed CARDIAC for up to 6 months.

VASCULAR SUPPORT :

Specific nutrients to help support the vascular system and help neutralise free radicals.

CARDIAC SUPPORT :

Nutrients which contribute to maintaining health of the cardiac muscle.

ELECTROLYTE BALANCE :

Potassium, magnesium and sodium content adapted to help support dogs with chronic heart insufficiency.

LOW SODIUM :

Low sodium diets reduce the retention of water and sodium which are associated with cardiac disease. This significant restriction enables the veterinarian to choose a reasoned sodium supplement when required.

Pets with cardiac disease are more prone to oxidative stress. Free radicals are cytotoxic and have a negative inotropic effect. Polyphenols, thanks to their antioxidant properties, significantly minimise the deleterious effects of free radicals.

Moreover, they have an antihypertensive action (Duarte 2001), by stimulating the endogenous production of nitric oxide (a local vasodilator).
