All captive reptiles and amphibians should receive a calcium supplement to ensure good metabolism and skeletal development.Repti Calcium is an ultra-fine precipitate of calcium carbonate, free of lead and other contaminants. Since the diet we offer reptiles usually contains too much phosphorus and is deficient in calcium, this supplement provides only calcium, without phosphorus, to balance these minerals. It is an all-white powder, has a unique shape and a high surface area per gram of product, resulting in high bioavailability. Repti Calcium without D3 is an impurity-free product, as it is not made from ground oyster shells.Use this supplement for reptiles or amphibians that achieve an adequate level of vitamin D3 on their own. This is achieved by prolonged daily exposure to direct sunlight or the use of perfectly functioning UVB/UVA lamps. The supply of vitamin D3 in the diet does not mean that the animals do not need this special radiation.Characteristics:- Highly bioavailable calcium carbonate.- Phosphorus free- Free from harmful impurities- Directions for use- Sprinkle on feed and mix well at a rate of ½ teaspoon once to three times a week depending on the stage of growth. Younger animals that are growing rapidly require more calcium in their diets.- Recommended use: Without D3.Animals that are kept outside and exposed to sunlight for 10 hours or more. (e.g. chameleons and tortoises).Reptiles that feed on vertebrate prey (e.g. mice).
